Once we get to the material that has been Masterworked since 2006-2007, additional work won't be necessary except for maybe one or two odd things. By that point they had things down pat and up to the current high standard.

I'm not going to rebuy All-Winners just for better restoration on four cover pages, though. Even my anal-retentive OCD has it's limits...
I'd agree that repro on the silver-age hc volumes from about vol 50 on is pretty good, or often even top notch, and I don't remember many problems with the Atlas volumes, but I don't think the reconstruction on the golden age stuff was that great, yet. The first All-Winners volume has some pretty thick and jagged or pixilated line-work on many pages. I don't have anywhere near a complete set of hcs, but i also have the first Daring Mystery volume, #89 I think, and it's difficult for me to believe the artwork in the original comics looked as bad as it does in that hc. None of it is as bad as that horrible GA Marvel Comics vol 1 hc, of course.

Of course, now, the GA hc volumes look pretty darn good. I have the last All-Winners, #170, and it's gorgeous. And the GA soft covers for Cap, Subby, and even Marvel Comics looked great. But we all got the bad news about the Torch, and now it looks like All-Winners 1 shared much the same fate.

So, can any hc completists tell us when the reconstruction on the GA vols started to shape up?

And can we hope for improvements on more than just covers in upcoming GA soft covers?
