Please read more carefully -- what I said was that I was surprised that Marvel was continuing to publish the "variant" editions (in this case, specifically of the paperbacks).

It's not too terribly difficult to make 370 copies of something work as a small percentage of a larger print run (rather than a separate item), I'm just surprised that Marvel hasn't gotten to the point of "why are we still bothering with this?"

And if I was wrong in my estimate for the "variant" editions, I was wrong -- I did say it was only a guess (and I was rather specific about how much of a guess), and I stand corrected. I expected somebody with the books would probably provide better information, though I was hoping it might be provided without a (tiresome) personal attack. (While reading more carefully, have a look at Items #4 and #8 of this post.)

A Week Ago Tuesday: My blog, where I never, ever write about comics (though I think I did, once or twice).
