My Recent Posts
There is actually some truly great work in the Golden Age- stuff that still informs and educates the better artists today- but it was tsunamied by a ton of work that was mediocre to poor. That's because comics were huge business early on- they exploded and printing them for a while was almost like printing money. Publishers just needed to get product out there. Meeting a deadline was valued. Flexibility was valued. Great storytelling? Great draftsmanship? Meaningless is you couldn't accomplish the first two.
