I guess what I would say is that when things are this bad, it would be better to delete the volume from the schedule than tarnish the brand.


I dunno, if it were a book that was likely to attract more interest than a Golden Age reprint, it might be worth postponing it -- but it's just not that important as a product.

In a sense, it's a no-win proposition -- to fix issues like these, you'd have to spend a fair bit of money (on both acquisition and restoration), but this is a product without margins that are well-suited to support that additional expense (and this is likely the end-of-the-line for this material in reprints), that becomes more difficult to justify.

In terms of "tarnishing the brand," I think Marvel has already done a thorough job with that with the Masterworks on a few occasions in past, and it really doesn't make a difference, either in sales or perception.
