I'm against the new paper. It's flimsy and overly glossy.

Overly glossy!!! You are kidding, right??? This is not very glossy at all!!!
Not kidding, but here I'm not talking specifically about the Iron Man and X-Force Omnis, since I don't have them around for comparison. But, the 2012 Omnis like Secret Warriors and OHCs like Bendis Avengers Assemble had paper that was super-shiny compared to the older paper. The finish is much more gloss and less matte. While the gloss does provide an illusion of it being premium, I just find it to be a distraction when viewing comic art.

I'll admit, I'm a nerd about print production, so I could be the only person on the planet who is annoyed by this. Yet, there's a whole world of paper choices out there. It's puzzling to me that if Marvel wanted to go thinner they would not pick a more ideal paper for the action. (Although, in fairness, the thin paper they chose does hold black ink really well, which is certainly a major feature in its favor.)

OK, you are confusing me!!! You State "I'm not talking specifically about the Iron Man and X-Force Omnis, since I don't have them around for comparison." OK, so your are not taking about the most current paper!!!

Then you say "But, the 2012 Omnis like Secret Warriors and OHCs like Bendis Avengers Assemble had paper that was super-shiny compared to the older paper. The finish is much more gloss and less matte. While the gloss does provide an illusion of it being premium, I just find it to be a distraction when viewing comic art." I agree 100%!!!

You next state "It's puzzling to me that if Marvel wanted to go thinner they would not pick a more ideal paper for the action. (Although, in fairness, the thin paper they chose does hold black ink really well, which is certainly a major feature in its favor.)" Now I wonder how you can say this as you say "but here I'm not talking specifically about the Iron Man and X-Force Omnis, since I don't have them around for comparison."

Are you or aren't you talking about about the newest paper??? Also, how do you know this is not the "more ideal paper for the action???"
