I love straightforward write-ups like this, so thank you indeed! I have been steadily amassing a vinyl collection for the last couple years, but don't have a proper setup yet. I think I have decided on a Pro-ject Debut Carbon for whenever it is finally time to make a purchase, I just have to figure out my speakers.

I also wanted to disagree with you only slightly on your point #11... I will agree that not necessarily everything new on vinyl is essential, but there are a number of current artists who are doing their part to keep the format viable and, in my opinion, essential. My favorite band is the Drive-By Truckers, and if they had their way everyone who purchased one of their albums would get the vinyl version. It is their preferred format, and Patterson Hood has mentioned in the liner notes of quite a few of their albums that they were recorded and mixed to be heard on vinyl, ideally. Which I think is awesome. I would also throw Jack White in the mix, he is obviously a fan of the format.

I know you weren't excluding all new releases when you made your point, I just wanted to point out some specifics. Sorry Smile and you were also spot-on with what you said about the numerous HQ-180 re-releases coming out!

Thank you again for taking the time to put this together!
