From what I saw, you would have to have a pretty high DPI to capture his technique completely.


Trouble is, by this point we're reliant on the film (for the most part, anyway) that was shot from that original art. That process was more than adequate for capturing detail (some of DC's Showcase books look really, really great!), but when the image was reduced as part of that process, that's where some of it could begin to disappear -- and all the resolution in the world won't restore what's no longer there.
