I hesitated on picking up FF Vol 6 because of the reviews of the "horrible" paper used. Thankfully after I finally got it I found that all the negative comments were just a tad hyperbolic. Yes, it not as good as the paper used on the majority of these, and yes I would greatly prefer the other paper- but the material still reads well and the colors come across OK. No question the other paper is superior, but I was greatly relieved to see that it wasn't anywhere near as bad as people were making it sound.
And that would have been a real drag as Vol 5 would have left me hanging with no affordable omnibus alternative available.

As it is, I'm loving these softcovers so much (and they are so affordable) it's becoming harder and harder not to break down and get FF Vol.s 7,8, and 9 like this instead of waiting for the inevitable omnibus which I would otherwise prefer. But that's looking at least 2 years away- if going by the next potential movie release is any indication.

In the meantime I did break down and get Dr Strange (love it!) and finally found a Avengers Vol. 2

Just wish they would ditch following the old release schedule and go to something more character specific (i.e. every May release the next Avengers Vol; every June the next Spider-man; every July the next X-man- etc with a few months reserved for rotating titles with shorter runs or non tent-pole appeal). A year is one thing- but several years to get a further 9 issues is going to seem incredibly frustrating and I would think cause them to lose some sales momentum.
