Hi,
Sure. Mike runs a little bindery called Bindery 59. His late Father was a bookbinder but like a lot of kids he wasn’t interested in his father’s line of work.
However in his early 40s he changed his mind. He officially started accepting bookbinding projects June 1, 2010 but the whole year before he and I created practice books/sample books that were later sold on eBay.
Mike has a day job as an accountant and works out of his home on book projects evenings and weekends. He knows what it takes to make a well-crafted book and can tell you to the penny what his costs are.
When project volume is heavy his nephew Carl helps out.
As his customer list grows he is reinvesting his money back into the business for new and additional tools of the trade. I keep hoping for more die stamps and an expanded font selection.

PS: In my next post I will write about Yan of Guardian Bindery.
