DC should just take a cue from Warner Brothers via their Archives:  put these B/C-list titles up for digital sale then sub-contract it out to a POD distributor.  Price it accordingly so they get a profit plus whatever royalties are needed to the creative teams.

I think it might come to that sooner if that kind of product were as indistinguishable from a traditional print product as manufacture-on-demand DVD product is from "pressed" DVD product.

If it were to come to that, I doubt that would involve a new set of color separations -- so older material would probably just be scanned. At that point, I think they'd be better off not to bother, and just package it as a digital product, instead.
