I took some time off this past week, so nearly every day was like a weekend!  Here's what I had ...

First, some IPAs:

Saint Arnold's Endeavor IPA.  Looks to be a special release in 22-oz 'bombers.'  I think this immediately became one of my top 10 IPAs.  I encourage y'all to check it out.

The next two are only available at the Freetail Brewing Company on Loop 1604 in San Antonio:  I had the Buffalo Hump 1840 Belgian Style IPA, and also a Velocihopter American Style IPA.  While I really liked both, I bought a jug of the Buffalo Hump to bring home with me (it was a birthday present to myself).

Next, some stouts!

I finally found Left Hand Brewing Company's Milk Stout here in San Antonio.  My God ... this may be the best American made stout out there!  So creamy, that in San Angelo, I've seen Joe's Brewhouse even serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Not to be outdone, Left Hand also produces a Nitro Milk Stout ... basically the same thing, but 'carbonated' with nitrogen vice CO2.  This gives it an even smoother mouth feel (Guinness uses nitrogen, too).  The nitrogen also gives the stout a pretty head when you pout it in a glass.  Nitrogen-infused stouts work much better for Black-and-Tans, too ... the nitrogeny stout will sit right on top of the CO2 -infused pale ale.

A close competitor to the Milk Stout is Independence Brewing Company's Convict Hill Oatmeal Stout.  Hell, maybe it's even better!  It does taste a tad roastier than the Milk Stout.  I'm enjoying one now as I type!

My first comic books: Superboy and the Legion of Super Heroes #202 and Kamandi, the Last Boy on Earth #23.  What a great way to start!
