The first 14 or so issues by Roy Thomas and John Buscema which adapt The Jewels of Opar and several of the short stories in Jungle Tales of Tarzan, are some of the best comics you're going to find.   After that Marvel started creating stories from whole cloth (at the request of the ERB Estate if I recall correctly) and quite frankly they're only fair.   The latter were written by David A Kraft & Bill Manto.   IIRC Sal Buscema took over the art from his brother.
