They revived the Batman franchise in Dark Knight. I really, really hope they don't screw up Superman. Last Superman movie was kind of lame, if it flops again Superman as a brand (toys, comics, movies, cartoons, etc...) will really lose value, Green Lantern lost the big chance, well Warner/DC did.
You know, DC should take their cue from Marvel. When a movie franchise misfires, they simply start all over. That's what they did with the Hulk. They have expressed a desire to do the same thing with the Fantastic Four should the rights revert to Marvel.
DC was the first to do it with BATMAN BEGINS in 2005, resetting the Batman franchise after the horrible Schumacher films, three years before INCREDIBLE HULK.  (They also tried to reset CATWOMAN in 2004, but the less said about that, the better.)
