For the question of where it continues from: Generally, Geoff Johns wanted to continue from Crisis and Paul Levitz continued from the end of the 1980's Levitz run. There are one or two unexplained items because of this (for instance, Quislet left between Crisis and the end of Paul's 1980's run, so when Paul decided to go from the end of his earlier run Quislet's return became unexplained. It is usually assumed that everything from Paul's earlier run happened except the death of Superboy and Conspiracy (so Mon-El is still alive, for instance), though Paul has made at least one contradictory statement.

And a plug for my (well, 95% mine) continuity list for the Legion on Legion World: http://www.legionworld.ne...=get_topic;f=11;t=000644
So Superboy is back?  Awesome.  I never liked the death of Superboy storyline and the whole "pocket universe" explanation concocted to accomodate John Byrne.  So I guess that would make the Conspiracy story nugatory-- hoping this means Luornu still has her second body and that the Infinite Man may still be around; but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

If the timeline up through v.3 # 63 (end of Magic Wars) is, for the most part, intact, that's good enough for me to come back.  Except for the Lightning Saga/Superman and the Legion/Legion of Three Worlds books, and the Geoff Johns back-ups in Adventure (which I read a fairly long time ago and need to re-read), I haven't touched Legion since v.4 # 50 (last Bierbaum issue) cr 1994.  I had hesitated at first to buy the new Levitz issues but was cautiously hopeful that the net effect of Geoff Johns' efforts was the restoration of the timeline to some point prior to Zero Hour (I still consider Zero Hour to have been an atrocity as it ruined the only two DC series I had ever followed: Legion and Green Lantern).  From what I've learned here, that seems to largely be the case (albeit with some complicated loose ends remaining), so I'll be exploring the new Levitz run shortly.
