Unfortunately, we've yet to have a series first offered as an Omnibus or a colour trade subsequently upgraded to Masterworks. It has to happen eventually, but reading the tea leaves it seems that the Masterworks program will first go after the material that hasn't been collected in colour yet, like Ghost Rider and Marvel Two-In-One.
I mentioned in another thread The Avengers/Defenders War MPE and The Defenders masterwork vol 2. Both Hardback, both colour, both the same material and only a three year gap between the two. It's been 4 years (so far) since The Invaders tpb so you never know.
And that's why I wrote with very careful precision using the term "series".

We've had runs collected in Marvel Premiere Classic that have made their way to Masterworks, yes, (and for that matter various trades of epic storylines) and in all cases those appeared in series that were already started in Masterworks and we knew that the Masterworks line would reach those runs eventually. There are other examples from MPC such Death of Captain Marvel (which included one issue in advance of Captain Marvel Masterworks Volume 4 and likely delayed publication of that Masterworks), The Death Of The Stacys (which included both pre- and post-Masterworked material from Amazing Spider-Man), and so forth. That's somewhat different from the point I was making about a line of Omniboos or trades that have collected a series.

Indeed, the MPC line itself has started collected some series in advance of Masterworks such as Black Widow, Guardians Of The Galaxy, West Coast Avengers, and Moon Knight. And we know from Cory that the Black Widow MPC scotched his plans for a Black Widow / Doctor Doom / The Watcher Masterwork volume.

I don't wish to belabour the point, and I'd be very excited to see an Invaders Masterworks line. But seeing as that title has been collected already in a series of trades, mindful of the number of quality titles that remain uncollected in any colour format whatsoever, and considering the small number of open slots between now and Volume 200 (presuming the annual and biannual releases will continue apace), I wouldn't feel secure in betting the mortgage money on that one for Volume 200.
