My biggest disappointment with the "footlocker of soldiers" were the tanks, battleships, and airplanes. They were wafer-thin as well and scaled to about 1/10 their size (or less!) in proportion to the soldiers.

I quickly tired of placing them "in perspective" as background elements. They were absolutely useless!!

And the "footlocker" was a cardboard box!

I'd heard the term "rip-off" used in Mad Magazine quite often, but it wasn't until I got these army men that I was fully cognizant of the term's meaning.
