One thing that's increasingly annoying to me is that the books take place across such a wide chronological framework. E.g., Justice League takes place when the big heroes are starting to become known, but not yet trusted; Action Comics seems to be well before that; JLI after the big heroes are widely popular; Detective at some vague point around the Justice League time; etc. It kind of defeats the purpose of a unified universe if the various books are scattered across the timeline!

I was thinking the same thing. Wouldn't you want most of your "universe" titles happening at the same time so that people feel more vested in it? Jumping around timelines makes me want to be even more picky and choosy.
