No direct, first-hand evidence, just a general understanding of how media companies do this stuff -- which is, according to everything I've read and heard through the years, very carefully. As I understand it, these generally aren't decisions that are made capriciously. (Even at DC, questions about creator credit, where and when those credits were to be applied, that all had to go through Legal.)


I've heard from people at both DC and Marvel that Ditko gets royalties (or whatever term Marvel uses) for reprints of his work. So much for your interpretation of his ethics and their real-world impact.


I'm kinda skeptical of the claim that Ditko is receiving any kind of reprint payments from Marvel, because so many other people whose work is being reprinted (or their representatives) have complained that they haven't. Who knows, though, maybe he has some sort of special arrangement.
