And even in the case of Batman, they have to make the characters similar to the comic book characters in only the most superficial of ways. Not much of any Batman film has anything at all that can be said to be faithful to the source material. If anything, the comics have adapted somewhat to become closer to the films (the look of Gotham, etc.). With GL, I felt like I was watching the comic book characters much more than any Bat or Super film. Too bad that didn't play well to the uninitiated.


You know Kam, I agree. I think Chris Nolan is a wonderful director and I've followed his work since Memento...and I think he has done great things with Batman...but I do find it difficult to get through the films after the initial viewings. I don't think Green Lantern was a "great" film...but it was enjoyable. And I truly hope they continue it using the Corp....maybe with a different director.
