Actually issue 1-8 look quite handsome, but issues 9-11 which are rendered in ugly, muddy tonalities(I hesitate to call them "colors") by a totally different recoloring team remain problematic. Especially bad is ROGUES IN THE HOUSE which receives the worst recoloring job of the lot and suffers from highly degraded line reproduction. Simply put, much of Barry's detailed line drawing is missing here. Which is a bloody shame since this story looked great in it's original comic book printing in CONAN THE BARBARIAN 11(1971).

Just finished this book and have to agree with your assessment of the colouring.  The first Chapter of Rogues... is the worst part of the book in terms of both the colouring and linework.

One thing that bugged me was the removal of the numbering from each page. I can understand the Marvel brand name being removed from the covers, but the page numbering???

As a lot of people have pointed out, putting Windsor-Smith name on the volumes, doesn't make much sense from a sales perspective and seems like a missed opportunity in regards to future volumes of the series.  Why not simply call the books Conan The Barbarian Archives and be done with it. I mean the art and writing is pretty much top shelf right through the first 100 or so issues, so why not publish the series as a 10 Volume HC set?
