Levitz returning to the Legion is like Claremont returning to the X-Men.  His name is synonymous with the property, so I think it was a no-brainer to give him the book, especially in the wake of the Waid reboot Legion fiasco.  Johns is obviously a big fan as well.  Levitz was out-the-door anyway, so I don't think the two were related -- he probably would have had a different book had the Legion been an active and successful property at the time of his departure.  The bottom line is that it wasn't, so any editor worth their salt would have jumped at the chance of Levitz's return (and I'm glad they did!).

I agree totally with fubar.

Look, comics are different now. Everyone is struggling for sales, and every editor is very responsible for how well their books sell. When an editor hires someone, my belief is that they hire that person thinking that gives them a chance to have higher sales, and that's the only reason. In the case of Levitz, the hire seems to make sense because he is synonymous with the Legion's best days. There also had to be some hope that he would lure some readers in with his name recognition, which worked in regards to me.

Some people like his work, some don't. We get that. But, like quincyjb says, i think we can say we don't like the work, without insulting the creators and the editors. That seems fair to me.
