i think the problem is, as eyes4u6666 alreasy pointed out in his review, that DC sacrificed the legion as a bone to throw to paul levitz and have him peacefully step back from his previous job as president and publisher.

and the worst part is many long time fans are happy with that, because as long as they see 'paul levitz' written on the cover they are reminded of their youth and relive à la proust their past legion reading experience.
fact is, unfortunately current legion stories have nothing to share with the good stuff levitz did in the 80s (maybe also because the current editor is no karen berger).
