They would have been better off capping the budget at 125 or 150 million for this first time in film character.


Best case now is it comes in around 125-150 million in the US grosses and 150-200 million in international.


That would still make it a money loser for the WB but at least it would earn some respectable figures as movies go.

This will probably hurt some future DC projects at the WB now. Not stop everything but with the latest X-Men falling short too there will probably be some rethinking on what gets the green light over the next couple of years. The rumoured Justice League movie might be a possible victim.

If Captain America tanks next month you'll start to see a lot more superhero film projects scaled back, delayed or just dropped.

Oh yeah, I thought the film itself was good. It's not like I was watching the Superman or Batman 4's again.
