I saw it last night. I can't give it the highest praise but I can't slag it either. It was good but could have been better. Like a lot of first movies in a franchise, it suffers from having a larger number of elements to introduce and not enough time to do them justice. I think that was my complaint in a nutshell - I couldn't get really invested in the story since it jumped around so much and didn't get past the surface too often. The remedy could have been to incorporate as many action/stunt scenes as they could to ramp up the fun factor. I hope the sequel will have more of that. Green Lantern's power is very visually oriented so the potential for big fun is there. The FX were good but not quite approaching photographic. The final big confrontation was pretty cool, though. I give it 2.5 out of 4 stars. Kid friendly.

As always, stay through the credits.
