I wouldn't say I grew up well adjusted, I was a punk in both definitions of the word, and my family life wasn't exactly ideal, but I get a sense, from Crumb especially, of a fear/dislike of women. I understand why he might feel the way he does and I think his work is fascinating, but I just can't relate to that stuff personally. With "Paying For It" I could never go to a prostitute, it's just not for me, but I'm very curious about the book. I think with stuff like this I like it because it shows how other people see the world.

I'm a fan of the medium of comics. I just love the combination of words and pictures. I have a lot of hardcovers and trades and I think it's about 70% mainstream super hero stuff. I think that's a pretty good ratio considering that super heroes are represented so much more. But I really seek out indy stuff and I pay A LOT more for it.

I like this board because I find most of the small press or "alternative" message boards to be filled with insufferably self important d-bags. This board has it's share of a-holes, but 95% of the posters are at least decent people even if I don't always agree with them. Also there aren't many 16 year old trolls who just post crap constantly, or guys that just post to increase their board standing, at least since Raven left.
