< And yet, your request that everyone avoid spoiling you by not discussing the actual *details* of the plot in question somewhat hampers an open discussion... >

Hi Jeph,  I realize it would hamper it, and yet, I see that some posters have been fairly good at avoiding major spoilers so far.  If my request hampers further discussion, then feel free to disregard my request.

< "I only read things that I already know I'll like" seems kind of like a closed loop. I get that money's tight, but why not challenge yourself once in a while? >

Jeph, you put the sentence, "I only read...like", in quotations.  It may give the impression to the readers that you are quoting me verbatim.  Just to clarify, I didn't say this, as that is not my philosophy.  Of course I challenge myself; I'm just looking for elaboration on a specific part of a story which may feature Hickman mischaracterizing Reed 616.  Which, in turn, would assist me in determining whether getting the trades would be worthwhile to me (David Lyons appears to share my point of view)

I find the comments by Runguy, Hamms Bear, & David Lyons, to be especially interesting & helpful.  I'd like to read further discussion, fellows!  Note, that if it's next to impossible to do so without engaging in major spoilers, then so be it.
