I passed on this omnibus and the coloring is why. Don't get me wrong, the sample pages I have seen are beautiful and it sounds like it will rightfully become an heirloom to many. But I have all the floppies of this run and when I think of certain scenes or events, I think of them in those original colors just as I first read them way back then. I don't want to screw around with that mind's eye view and different colors do that (to me at least). Anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I just overly nostalgic?
I hear you.  I'm the same way -- it's kind of like Star Wars: The Special Editions -- can't watch them with the "updated" F/X as every change pulls me out of the viewing experience.  Still, I would have purchased it had it been published in two volumes instead of one, at the very least for easy reference.  Guess I'll wait for the Masterworks!
