Ok, just to play devil's advocate, I'm going to attempt to defend Euripides69.

First, let me say, he does come across a little scuzzy with how he justifies his behavior. For that matter, bragging about it to collectors here is kind of like being a BP executive that points and laughs at people filling their gas tank at $4 a gallon.

However....

The laws of supply and demand apply. If you want the book and you don't want to pay a fortune for it, it's still available at Talesofwonder.com. You don't have to buy it from him. Also, would you think what he was doing was bad if he was a LCS owner? My LCS has several out-of-print Absolute editions. They charge $150 for the first LOEG volume. They only paid half price when they bought it, so should I begrudge them making an extra profit on a book that I can't find elsewhere?

As for the arguement that "speculating" is wrong, in this case I'm not so sure. He didn't buy 200 copies of a book that only printed 225 copies (I hope). If he gets even 20 copies of Thor Omni, so what? Marvel is on their 3rd printing!!! Anyone who wants one, can still get one. They printed at least a couple thousand, and probably more. By the time he can sell them online for enough profit margin to be worth it, the fans have had plenty of chance to get their own for less money.

Also, the laws of supply and demand will work against him as much as they work for him. He will not be able to sell his extra copies for any more than what other people sell the same book for on ebay. If he's the only seller, he can name his own price, but if there are several people selling the book on ebay (and there almost always are), then competition will keep the price from going too crazy.

Again, the dude is being kind of a jerk on here by rubbing people's nose in what he's doing. But don't confuse the action with the personality of the one doing the action.
