I am the author of the book "John Buscema Michelangelo of Comics" and didn't consciously cut the family out of the production of this book. There was a misunderstanding when I tried to contact the family and I will leave it at that (no one was at fault). The book isn't some tabloid tell all but one that focused on the art, along with the artists and writers he worked with. This being my first book it isn't perfect and looking back on it there are things I would do different. The biggest would have been including John's widow and family in my research. I had planned on sending copies of the book to Dolores, John's widow, even though I didn't use her or the family in the research. I was surprised before the book came out that Stephanie and Dolores were mad about the book, but I can understand. Nothing in the book was done in malice but love of the comics and artwork I grew up reading. Hermes Press did send copies of my book to Dolores, which I hope she enjoyed.
Joe Sinnott was a great help in my research and contributed to the hardcover doing a fantastic inked piece. He was compensated for his work and Marvel was fully informed and paid for the use of their characters.
In the end this is a book which celebrates all the work John did from his days at Timely in the 40's and 50s to his silver age Avengers and Silver Surfer work, his long run drawing Conan and the many other characters he did for Marvel and DC.

Be seeing you,
