"Colletta had a 40+ year career and probably inked more comics than anyone in the history of the business. And at the time, his audience was thrilled with the finished product, as were his bosses. It wasn't until decades after the fact when Kirby was raised to godhood that Colletta suddenly became a villain."
Droid, I liked most of Colletta's Thor inking, and certain of his romance tales, but I don't know how much his audience was thrilled by Vinnie's art.  But, it's all opinion anyway.  And it's wrong to vilify Colletta all that much, as he was just part of an assembly line process that was aimed at getting product out on schedule.  He wasn't the only inker to alter perfectly good pencil work.
