Well, as someone who has been reading not just the stories Pat Mills wrote TWENTY years ago, but everything since (SLAINE, ABC WARRIORS, SAVAGE, BLACK SIDDHA, DEFOE, all for 2000 AD, as well as his REQUIEM and his CLAUDIA tales for HEAVY METAL) I can tell you he's definitely an acquired taste. A truly deranged imagination, which he sometimes shows at the expense of character development (Garth Ennis is much better at fleshing out characters, although I'm well aware most people here seem to be under the delusion Ennis is only good at toilet humor), genuinely original plots, which sometimes go on and on, with no resoilution in sight (Geoff Johns clearly learned a lot from him)
Mills hates super-heroes with a passion (Ennis likes to make fun of them, but he obviously likes them) so I'm not sure jhalbright will like this stuff.
Of course, if you've never read MARSHAL LAW, you should really try it at least once.
