No question - Johnny Thunder had a succession of top-notch artists throughout his 12 year run.

Alex Toth in the early All-American Western run, then briefly Carmine Infantino, who gave way to Mort Drucker for about a dozen tales in the mid-50s.

With ASW #84, Gil Kane took the reins, and as seattleguy pointed out, most of his work was self-inked up to issue #107.

Starting with #108, they rebooted the character with a revamped origin, new "costume", and expanded story size. No doubt the longer stories made it impractical for Kane to ink them, so he was paired up with Joe Giella for the remainder of the run.

Toth, Infantino, Drucker, Kane - not too shabby a line-up!

"As for contentment, that is a myth.  Give a man everything he wishes and he will be unhappy, because he didn't wish for more; give him more, and he will die of his worries.  Only a turtle, asleep on a sunny log, knows contentment!"
