This could be interesting. I'm still unsure as to what it's really about. Eight characters will be proven worthy? Worthy for what, I wonder.

So it begins back in WWII, eh? With an Invaders prologue.

I remember the Green Lantern story "Fear Itself" that began back in WWII. Alan Scott was the first GL to encounter this horrific entity that turned out to be something quite unlike what was expected.

My interest is piqued as to what the big secret is that has been gestating in the Marvel Universe since then.

I'm not sure how I feel about tying the real world "zeitgeist" into the story... I get enough of the real world in the real world. It's one thing to do something topical like drug abuse, but when you incorporate everyday fears like unemployment and the potential threat of economic disaster or terrorism... I don't know, I guess I just don't like it when politics gets thrust into the mainframe.

I'll never forget when Gormuu wrote his take on Jurgens' Thor. I completely missed the interpretation that he outlined Jurgens was making.

I guess I just like my superheroes to distance themselves as much as possible from real world political issues. But I'm willing to give the storytellers their chance.
