2010 was an interesting year for binding.

The highlights (or lowlights in some cases):
-Custom covers were offered. Finally a way to be creative, and also active in the hobby more than searching endlessly for missing issues or typing up maps.
-LBC went out of business. I started using Houchen, but we're still in the learning curve with them. For instance, I've been having issues with the laminate around the spine area. I've been working on several options to try to minimize that problem (different laminate material, asking for a harder spine, my next option to create a cover that is white around the spine and see if the unprinted area is easier to stick to).
-I am one box away from finishing my X-Men collection. With that out of the way, I can concentrate on some smaller runs. After this experience, though, it'll be a while before I get around to my Superman collection.
-I finally read the entire Claremont X-Men run, plus accompanying X-Factor volumes. (Yeah, I could tell he was phoning it in at the end.)
-I got my first two books done with imitation leather. I was going to switch over to that for more books, but LBC went under, and most of the other options I saw charged extra for it. Plus, the custom covers became available.
-I moved last New Year's. I learned then that it is better to bind. It's a lot easier to move the bound books than the comic boxes. Unfortunately, my finances can't keep up with my desires.

I should be getting my last shipment of the year today, which includes Batman: No Man's Land in 4 volumes, Batman: Under the Hood, and X-Men: Second Coming. I just wish UPS would show up to deliver my stuff before I had to go to work.
