I tried on several occasions to buy Thor: The Mighty Avenger because of good comments I had heard, but I just couldn't get it to the counter at my LCS because of the artwork. It just left me cold. I see from the latest sales figures that it was selling between 8 & 9,000 copies, so I guess I few folks agreed with me.

Wow...and I thought for sure that was a book you would adore! I guess either the art works for you or it doesn't. I thought the art was a perfect compliment to the writing myself. I also loved how Jane Foster was reimagined/portrayed. I especially loved how Chris Samnee conveys emotion through his facial expressions. His art is deceptively simple, but not at all simplistic. The issues with the Warriors Three and the Sub-Mariner were among my favorite stories of the entire year in comics!

I would also recommend jumping on Amazing Spider-Man (my personal favorite Marvel title over the last year), but if you didn't like the "Brand New Day" era, maybe you wouldn't take to the new "Big Time" era as well. Hard to tell...
