Would you guys be willing to pay extra for the omnibus if it was split into 2 books in a slipcase?

It occured to me whilst thumbing through the already hefty Straczynski omnibus....that the Simonson book is going to be basically twice as thick as that...and I've yet to finish reading the ASM omnibus that I've owned for almost 2 years because of how unweildy the thing is.

The more Omniboo I get, the more I find myself agreeing with the posters that say the excessively large ones are a bad idea...I think the first Cap omnibus is the optimal size.

Point being, I'd pay an extra 25 doll hairs to get the thing split into 2 books and put in a slipcase.

I would, but that's just because I'm such a fan of the run. Marvel, however, prefers done-in-one projects for the most part, I believe.

Before Omnibuses, I trumpeted for a series of "Marvel Supreme Editions." These volumes would be hard cover, sans dust jackets, and in slip cases. I wrote the following quite a while ago:
Yep, three 16-issue OHC volumes of Simonson's Thor would do just fine. Put all three in a slipcase, label it under the fabled "Marvel Supreme Edition" banner, and there shall be great rejoicing.

That 3-volume set would include the 4-issue Balder mini.

Unlike good ol' Alan, I like slip cases a lot. I think that they add to the overall "classiness" of a book. I'd go for single, double, or triple volumes in slip cases any day over simple hard covers with dust jackets.
