I've been championing Don Newton's reputation for some time now.
I think he was an amazing artist - at least on a par with stalwarts like John Buscema and Jim Aparo - and one of the best of his era.
If he hadn't met such an untimely end, I fully believe he would now be widely acknowledged as a true master.
DC really should reprint some of his work but as his name recognition is negligible, I don't see that happening any time soon.
Sad.
I have, however, tabled a few proposals to get his work-
4th World
and
Batman
- back into print.
