That's true -- though to be fair, I think many people might not have had a real understanding of what this book was all about, how big it was going to be (just a set of measurements don't always give you the full story), how impressive it was going to be (maybe that depends on how much original art you've ever handled), that sort of thing. And the retail price might have dissuaded many people from taking a chance sight unseen.

Is that a failure of the way the book was solicited and publicized? Meh. Maybe, maybe not (I'm sure someone will complain that it is), but I think there are some products where you really can't get a handle on what they're going to be like without actually seeing them, or without recommendations from people you trust.
