My Recent Posts
In the 40s, Mort was just an associate editor (for lack of a better term), right? IIRC, It was Whitney Ellsworth who controlled the Superman books through the 40s.
But, when Adventures of Superman started in '51, Ellsworth went to Hollywood, and Mort was left with control of the comics.
Perhaps he didn't show his true colors until he was the king.
