Yes, there are many sellers who regularly steal books (among other things) from wherever they work and then turn around and sell them on ebay. I once bought a pretty large collection of hardcovers from one seller over a 2-3 week period. He just described them as new. When I got them they were new, and so were the borders price stickers. There was a sticker on every one of the 30 or so books I got for an average of 80% off cover price.

EDIT: I just took a look at the seller mentioned, his listings are all still on ebay. Even as a criminal the guys a moron. He's definitely up to some scam here. He's sold dozens of copies of Walking Dead #1-3 first prints for $18. If he had half a brain he could have sold them for a lot more than that. What I think this guy is doing is he's selling as many items as he can as fast as he can and then going to an ATM and withdrawing the cash from his paypal account before ebay catches on.

If you look through his complete items you'll see a set of the Sandman Absolutes 1-4 that sold for $110 total. I'm 99% sure he stole the photo from a poster on this board. Here's a link:
