My favorite snafu from the era is the idiotic Kwannon/Revanche storyline, which not only retcons something that didn't need to be retconned in the first place, but which was handled so poorly they had to retcon it again a year later. The L/N era is virtually a case study in how not to write.
Yeah, that pretty much made the Psylocke character permanently toxic after CC/Lee had made her one of the more interesting characters in the book.  I think that's actually when I dropped the X-Men for good.
