Resurrection Man has a couple of recommendations so far, I'll have to check it out. Same with Untold Tales of Spider-Man. Untold tales has a 5 star ratings in Amazon from all fans except one. That's a good sign. I have read Stern's Starman (fun read, recommended).
Thanks for all of the recommendations. Any titles that just don't stand up from the 90's? (maybe were better in the 80's and 00's)

Uncanny X-Men.
X-Men.

the 90s for Spider-Man were the Clone Saga years. If you can find 'em cheap, or decide to buy the Complete Clone Saga TPBs, I'd recommend reading it. But, many people hate the Clone Saga. So, enter at your own risk.

Many also do not like the DeFalco/Ryan Fantastic Four run... or the Avengers from the mid 90s, or Iron Man. Avengers and Iron Man crossed over in the mid 90s, when it turns out Iron Man had been a traitor controlled by Kang, Iron Man killed some Avengers, and died and was replaced by a teenaged version of himself.

Definitely better in the 80s and from '98 onward.

In fact, Marvel's major titles were all in a downswing in the mid '90s, which made Liefeld and Lee's Heroes Reborn almost a necessity. Marvel needed a creative enema back then, and they got it.

On the DC side... well, their books were also in flux in the 90s. Superman died, Batman got his back broken, Wonder Woman was replaced by a redhead...

There are disagreements over Kyle Rayner Green Lantern.

The character was great, the book was great, but they way they got there is universally loathed.
