Choice of cover: Granted, for a volume with so many great splash pages (Thor 145, Amazing Adventures 1) the choice of cover was difficult. However I prefer the Gil Kane cover for Amazing Adventures 10 even though Magneto's helmet looks wrong.

There is a problem in the credits where Kirby isn't credited as writer for Thor 145-152. It is clear from the actual credits in the stories that Jack wasn't just the penciler.

In the introduction Evanier is informative but his chronology doesn't jibe. The duration between the Inhumans strip in Thor and the Marvel Super-Heroes tryout isn't a couple of years but a couple of months.

Thor 145-152 was as good as I remembered.

The MSH story was new to me but is an uninspired standard super-hero story. Colan's art is always a good thing but while Colletta's inking is generally competent and even good on Medusa's face, it isn't the most appropriate on Colan.

The Kirby stories in Am Adv have inking by Chic Stone. Chic doesn't soften the look of Kirby's pencils like Sinnott and I have always appreciated his work. The stories have a political slant and deal with exterior attacks.
Thomas and Adams shift the action to the old USA and try to inject social consciousness with child abuse and African American ghettos. The last two issues by Conway have a horror slant that will continue with the replacement feature. While the inking by Everett saves the art in the first part, the inking by Giacoia (usually an inker I like) doesn't improve the art by Sekowski.

The three Not Brand Ecch bonuses are welcome.
