Do any of you think that such a recent TASM volume might (even slightly) reduce the chances of MTU? After all X-Men held back Uncanny for years, so by the logic of two X-Men books having to compete for an annual slot, wouldn't two Spider-Man series have to also compete for an annual slot?

I'm not asking for whether or not you guys think TASM/MTU *should* rotate, but rather I'm asking, doesn't Cory's rotation of X-Men/Uncanny seem to indicate the kind of logic where TASM/MTU would rotate?

Here's my opinion: I think ASM should be an annual selection irrespective of any other Spider-Man volumes. A prospective MTU line could be annual, every two or three years, no matter. But ASM ought not be affected. It's likely to be one of the highest selling Masterworks lines, and as we get further along in the Marvel years, that will be even more relevant to its standing in the queue.

And since the series stars Spider-Man, I also think MTU would be one of the higher sellers down the line, too. (I only wish those cranky licensing issues didn't crop up so early in the run.)

Bottom line: I don't see the presence of MTU on the schedule adversely affecting the rate at which we see ASM. But, again, that's solely my take on things.
