Exactly. To me, it sounds as though they're acquiescing to the retail community, but putting consumer orders (which I assume they're already taking) first.

If the only way to get a copy of this book were via a method where the retailer orders would be allocated, I'd agree, that'd be a dismal scenerio. But you can always order it direct from the publisher, instead.

Now, the question of how the retailers are being treated here is another matter entirely (and I'm still not sure why IDW would have chosen, at least at first, to leave them out), but that's a completely different discussion.
