I wonder what caused them to change their minds about this...
Perhaps Diamond pressured them into offering the product.  That or sales were even lower than they expected.  After all, other than the brief mention at the WC panel and IDW's own site, I haven't seen any official press releases or coverage about the book on the big comic sites.  Considering that they're supposedly taking orders for on-site pick-up at San Diego a couple months from now, you would think they would publicize it to generate more sales.

Sales would have been pretty solid at San Diego. (Remember that Lost Girls sold out when it was offered at San Diego a couple years back...)  And it's waaaaay too early to declare that it's not selling well enough on its own.

My guess is Diamond asked them in a "Hey! WTF?" kinda way and IDW decided to go ahead.  (And it won't be offered at the typical Diamond retailer discount (50%), so I wouldn't expect to see many online deals below 10%.)

Not necessarily pressure (I really don't think Diamond can pressure anyone nowadays - did folks notice that Boom is going through an alternate distributor that is offering a better retailer discount than Diamond?)
