I enjoyed the Stanley books, and didn't find them distracting,but I could well be used to seeing the effects after getting over the shock of seeing Melvin Monster like that (I didn't like -that- look much). Thirteen Going on Eighteen, though, had stories sufficiently distract me from the effect.

To steer back to the topic,
Tiger Tea, as I went through it trying to decide if I wanted it, didn't seem all that complete narrative-wise, and now I know why, so thank you!
