The way Kirby was treated by Marvel was indefenisble and the way Marvel/Disney still dodge the issue behind a wall of lawyers is a disgrace.

Kirby chose to work for Marvel, and he got paid for the work he did.  If he didn't like how they treated him, he could (and did) go work somewhere else (in or out of comics).  That's not slavery or exploitation, that's "working for a living."
