Crimson Fox was pre-dated by an old DC Western named The Trigger Twins that did the same kind of things with twins Walt and Wayne Trigger (This was one of the features that All-Star dropped the Justice Society in favor of).

While it makes for an interesting one or two stories , the whole idea of one Trigger Twin filling in for the other got old to me really quick (indicative of much of Robert Kanigher's writing to me, I'm afraid).

Bruce Wayne may have been a bore, but was never intended to be. Early on he had a girlfriend and was used much like the Shadow used Lamont Cranston. But, in Bill Finger's defense, not too many of the comics were character driven, opting mostly for action and plot-driven stories.
