It's hard to argue with jasonrh's choice. Bad enough when the Blackhawks swapped their classic military uniforms for red and green togs, but the superhero Blackhawks ... yaiee. Abominable.
The Blackhawks weren't the only DC characters to get ill-advised makeovers during the 1960s. Rip Hunter and crew swapped their everyday attire for green suits. Mark Merlin became Prince Ra-Man. The Challengers of the Unknown swapped their utilitarian dungarees for unsightly lemon-yellow outfits. None of these costume changes compares with what happened to the Blackhawks, but, still, then as now, I hated them.
